Thanks so much for visiting Total Mommy Fitness! I am so glad you are here. This website was created to assist and inspire moms to stay healthy during pregnancy, and lose weight quickly after the baby is born.
The mission of Total Mommy Fitness is to educate women beyond the misinformation circulating about pregnancy exercise and nutrition. I promise you that the information posted on this blog is backed by research, includes over a decade of personal training experience, and complies with the recommendations from ACOG (American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists).

Tatum Rebelle: Pre and Postnatal Fitness and Nutrition Expert
I began Total Mommy Fitness in 2005, while working as a personal trainer and finishing college. I noticed a reoccurring theme of women opting out of training when they became pregnant because of the fear they might harm their baby. Gyms did not have qualified trainers to assist them, and they received little encouragement from their obgyn or partner. Once they became new moms I never saw any of the women return to the gym. I knew this was a serious problem, and wondered what I could do to help.
Several years into my training career I had a client who wanted to exercise during her pregnancy. All I knew was to be fearful. I was unsure what was safe, so I called every local obstetrician’s office asking the nurses for a resource, and came up with ZERO options!
I was discouraged that even the doctors couldn’t help, so I decided to become a resource for pregnant women myself and began doing extensive research. I was shocked to learn that the research negated everything I had previously heard. Women needed to know this stuff. It was all so exciting and positive, I wanted to shout it from the rooftops! I made it my mission to share what I was learning with others.
People are often surprised to learn that I am not yet a mom myself. I am simply a mom advocate. I feel very passionate about giving pregnant women the education and support they need to stay fit.
Knowing that the benefits of exercise during pregnancy will have lasting effects on both moms and their babies is what keeps me motivated to reach as many women as possible with this powerful information.
A little bit about my fitness background and credentials:
I’m originally from Scottsdale, AZ, and currently reside in Austin, TX. I joined the Army at age 17 and served as a Drill Sergeant. Throughout my career I consistently received the highest fitness awards, including the best fitness score in Basic Training and Drill Sgt School, competing amongst mostly males. I was also chosen to represent my unit in an “Iron Soldier” competition. I’ve been featured in Fit Pregnancy Magazine, and was chosen as one of “Austin’s Fittest” by Austin Fit Magazine.
My personal training and pre/postnatal fitness certification are from the American Council on Exercise (ACE). I studied Kinesiology and Communication at Texas Christian University receiving a Bachelor of Science degree, and also hold a Master’s degree in Business Administration.
I’m not your typical gym rat. In fact I spend as little time in the gym as possible! My workouts usually consist of taking my dogs to the park and using the pull up bars, doing push ups, stepping up on a bench, and running around with them. I prefer to be outside, and believe that it does not take much equipment to stay in great shape. Just a little knowledge about how the body works and some creativity.
